Team Volusia wishes everyone a happy & healthy Thanksgiving!
The Brazilian Aircraft Manufacturer, SEAMAX Aircraft, announces this month the launch of the company assembly operations in the USA. Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation was instrumental in assisting SeaMax with its site selection and introducing the company to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University officials so that mutual interests could be considered. The company and the university collaborated to form a partnership that includes establishing SeaMax America’s United States Headquarters at Embry-Riddle’s John Mica Engineering and Aerospace Innovation Complex at Embry Riddle Research Park (aka MicaPlex).
Travelers in the Greater Daytona Region will now be able to travel to Dallas and Philadelphia with ease, thanks to the addition of non-stop daily flights through American Airlines. 
While business as usual has a unique connotation in 2020, Team Volusia staff continues to proactively reach out to the business community in an effort to market Volusia County as a business location.  The team was able to attend 10 in-person events prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and they continued to remain active by attending strategic virtual events. Staff attended two notable virtual events which included the IMPACT Virtual Summit and Business Facilities LiveXchange.   
The Duke Energy Site Readiness Program began in 2005 in North and South Carolina and Duke Energy Florida implemented the program in November 2012 following the Duke Energy/Progress Energy merger.
