Keith Norden, President and CEO of Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation, has been elected to the Council on Aging of Volusia County board of directors. Mr. Norden has successfully led Team Volusia, a public-private not-for-profit focused on drawing high-impact businesses to Volusia County, since 2012.

Last month, the U.S. Space Force announced six finalists for its headquarters and the Florida delegation on Capitol Hill is ramping up its push to have it located in the Sunshine State. The Space Force is looking at Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County as one of the finalists. Other finalists include Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado, Port San Antonio in Texas and Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, according to the Air Force. A decision is expected early next year.

SchenkelShultz Architecture is pleased to announce that Ekta Prakash Desai AIA has been named Partner and Design Lead at the firm. Desai first joined SchenkelShultz in 2006 as an architectural intern. After graduation, she cultivated her creative roots for eight years while working for international design firms in New York City and Mexico City. She rejoined the firm in 2018. In her new role, Ekta is responsible for leading SchenkelShultz’s design process to enrich the firm’s portfolio of work. Ekta’s promotion is part of the firm’s effort to build upon its legacy markets, clients and locations, with a focus on design excellence.
